Object Detail

Description
A detailed wood engraving of two figures, in draped garments, bracing themselves against a strong wing. They are standing beside a body of water with hills/mountains in the background. The strong wind is implied by the circular patterns, made with different cutting techniques, in the sky. These dynamic forms are replicated throughout the image, in the water, land and in the drapery of the figures. The second figure in the background is more abstracted than the primary figure and this geometric style gives the image an Art Deco/Art Nouveau appearance.
