Description
A painting of two peasant girls in an expansive landscape. They are standing at the waters edge; the younger is scrubbing clothes on rocks, the other is looking down at this activity, leaning into a wicker basket against a large rock. Both girls are wearing head covers; the younger has a white bonnet, the elder has a yellow patterned knotted head scarf. Both are barefoot.
