Object Detail
Description
A watercolour landscape as seen from Tadmor Hill looking down to the Wangapeka Plain with Mount Jones and Thompson Hill immediately behind and the Mount Arthur Range in the distance. The composition is in the classic 'Claudian' style with bordering trees on each side and a winding fenced path leading to a cluster of buildings located at centre on the left side. Behind the buildings at the foot of the terrace is a row of trees which follow alongside the Sherry River. A team of horses in the foreground at centre are pulling a felled tree log on a dray and set the expansive scale of the landscape.
