1930s head and shoulders portrait of Florence Evelyn Baigent (mother of Lawrence Baigent) who is wearing glasses and a blue collared jumper with distinctive multicoloured, facetted buttons. The paintwork on the jumper and background has an unusual vertical, wavy crosshatched pattern.
