Description
A black ink printed image of a village scene full of activity. There is a group of figures in the background who are threshing wheat (beating to separate the grain from the chaff). Other figures are equally busy with the exception of the female figure and child at centre. The female is rendered in the negative (white lines on a black hatched field), which gives the impression of calm repose.
