Rocks and folliage in the foreground, with a land and boats in the midground and hazy hills/mountians in the backgroud. Kirkwood and some other of his contemporaries appear to have made a trip visiting various of the Southern fjords/ Sounds and some of the major Southern lakes in the late 19th century
