Object Detail
Description
An irregular-shaped pot with expressionist-style glaze painting in blue and maroon. The base of the pot is relatively narrow and broadens out to a wide shape that is irregular on either side: a deep curve on one side and a shorter curve on the other. The hole at top is much larger than the size of the base and located off-centre. The pot has a diluted blue glaze washed over the main body overlaid with broad 'feathery' maroon brush marks superimposed with undiluted blue linear marks (hatched, jagged and curved lines), describing bird and fruit forms.
Medium
Low-fired glazed earthenware
