Description
A black etched image of a moa (apteryx being the genus of flightless birds) on a low square plinth facing a six pronged cross atop a higher plinth. There is a freestanding white square on an oblique angle to the right of the cross against which a cross-shaped shadow is projected. These objects are positioned within a bare and stippled landscape with a high horizon line bisecting the skeleton's eye. There are perspectival lines relating the cross form to its shadow and diagonal lines between the eye of the skeleton and the position of the cross plinth.
